Windows 10 audio crackling and popping in all programs apart from Windows apps.

So, my audio on Windows 10 sounds very unusual. It sounds like when you drive on a road with loads of trees and your radio signal goes all crackly. But the audio seems to be working perfectly in Microsoft Edge. Same with the Realtek Audio Console. Any other programs don't work, even the Control Panel. I did recently try out Windows Insider, but after I got this issue, I reverted back to a stable build and stopped receiving early updates from the Insider programme. Windows is all up to date. Windows has been doing a lot of updates recently. The most recent update installed an app called "Realtek Audio Console."

    Any help would be appreciated!

    :)

Let’s run the audio playback troubleshooter and check if that helps. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

    • Click on the search icon below and type
      Troubleshooting.
    • Then click on the Troubleshooting on the top of the Window.

    Method 2:

Download and install the drivers in Windows compatibility mode.

    • Download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’.
    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down.

    Audio Pop/Stutter/Crackle When Stopping Audio

I've been having this issue for the past two days, and I've tried everything to no avail.
    Basically this is the issue:
    I get a pop/crackle when I suddenly stop audio.
    What I'm running:

    • Schiit Uber Stack.
    • Win 10 PC.
    What I've tried:

    • Tried onboard audio, still get the problem.
    • Tried onboard audio on both my PC and laptop, still get the problem.
    • Tried my stack on both PC and laptop, still get the problem.
    • Tried using a DPC latency checker, everything seems fine there.
    • Tried different headphones just in case, wasn't the issue.
    • Tried changing audio format, still get the problem.
    • +literally tried 99 other things *Tongue

That pop is happening when I suddenly stop the sound effect. I get that pop when a Windows notification shows up. My friend's voice on Discord also pops every couple of seconds (100% sure it's not his mic).
    Any help is appreciated!
(Just to clarify, I made sure it's not a hardware issue, so something within Win 10 is screwing with me)

I WILL LITERALLY PAYPAL ANYONE WHO FINDS ME A SOLUTION $10 *chuckle

(Yup, I'm losing my mind and I'm that desperate lol)

Windows 10 audio crackling and popping in all programs apart from Windows apps.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
