Windows 10: Windows 10 auto update caused ethernet to stop working

hello i have an acer aspire v3 - 571gwhen i noticed that my ethernet is no longer working i tried every solution i could find on the internet, including : installed 5 versions of my ethernet driver old and new and none of them worked, deleted the network file in registry editor, network troubleshoot.i once reinstalled windows 10 using a bootable device, the first thing i did was install driver updates of course, i got surprised with "adding a private network" notification, my ethernet was working again, i thought it was permantly working but straight after installing all the updates i had the

Windows update caused my keyboard to stop working

The keyboard failure probably happened coincidentally with the update rather than being caused by it. You can find out like so:

• Turn the machine on.
• Wait until the spinning circle appears, then press the power button for 10 seconds to turn the laptop off.
• Repeat the above steps three times. This will get you into Repair Mode.
• Go to advanced options, then select the Command Prompt.
• Check each and every keyboard key.

I think you will find that the problem keys still do not work, even though the current mode is not affected by the recent update. You probably have to replace the keyboard.

 

Ethernet card causes BIOS crash and then stops working

1. Does the PC boot normally when it is not connected to internet?
2. Are you seeing any error code on your PC?

There could be a possibility that certain BIOS settings might be causing the issue or there could be an issue with hardware compatibility.
However, we can go ahead and try to narrow down the cause of this issue, and hopefully, changes in settings should work.

Method 1: Disable PXE boot.

I would suggest you to refer the owner's manual and check the Boot Sequence. If you find network/PXE boot on top, then move the priority to the bottom of the list.

You can also try to disable the PXE boot option and check if Windows boots without any issues with network card connected.

Method 2: Update Network card drivers and check if that resolves your issue. Refer the following article for steps to
update drivers. If the issue still persists
roll back to previous display drivers. Follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press 'Windows + R'
   key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type 'devmgmt.msc' and hit enter.
   
3. Expand the display adapter option from the list.
4. Right click on the driver and click on 'Properties'.
   
5. Click on 'Driver' tab and check for 'Roll Back Driver'.
   

If the roll back option is available, roll back the driver and restart the computer.
