  1. Windows 10 Automatic Repair loop

    Hello all

I am getting the Wins 10 Automatic repair loop. I have already attempted the two restore points, and reseting the PC. The system begins to reset, then pops up an error of sorts saying unable to reset and no changes were made. A similar message when I tried the restore points.

I am going to go home tonight and try the command prompt and attempt the bootrec.exe command, if that doesn't work, then see if there is an early launch anti-malware protection that can be disabled.

not sure what chkdsk does, but I have seen that mentioned.

My main question today is if all else fails, and I unplug the SDD that has my Windows 10 OS (I am assuming that is where the corrupted or incomplete file is that is causing the loop), what happens when I try to boot the PC up without an OS installed? Will I have the option to download windows on one of my other SSDs? I have changed out mobos before and my windows account is a digital one where all I have to do is enter my email and password, I have never had to rebuy windows, and never had any problem switching hardware, but I have never attempted to start the PC without an OS on one of the hard drives.

Another strange thing about this, and the only thing that tipped me off that something was strange was that my M.2 drive wasn't recognized. It's nothing critical, that is where I keep videos that I have made and my editing software, but that wasn't showing up in my computer. Maybe it's completely unrelated.

If needed, I have an i7 8700k, NZXT N7 Mobo, three 500GB Samsung SSD (one is my C: Drive and contains my OS), a 2 TB HDD, and that M.2 250GB stick

    Hi Charlene,

Your concern regarding the device going into an Automatic Repair Loop can be caused by change on its settings/configuration or broken system files. To effectively assist you with your concern, can confirm if you've made any changes on your device prior to
    your concern?

As an initial step to get back into the normal Windows screen, we suggest that you perform a
Startup repair. The repair will attempt to fix any broken components/files which may prevent your device from booting properly. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • On theAutomatic Repair screen, select Advanced options.
    • Select Troubleshoot.
    • Select Advanced options.
    • Select Startup Repair.

We'll appreciate if you can send us an update.
