Windows 10: Windows 10 Back up missing files

have tried yesterday, and again today, to run a back-up to an external drive G, with selection to update drive C and drive D plus system image.Have run chkdsk, including for drive G, sfc/scannow. and DISM.When I checked to see if all files were copied, drive D were again missing.Event viewer had entries which seem to indicate what is happening. Can anyone help please?

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
