    I have seen previous replies to this error code, but none of them help.My backup drive has plenty of space. Check disk and scan show no errors.My last successful backup was 03/31/2022. Every backup attempt since then has failed.I am running Windows 10 and am current on maintenance.Backup gets through "Preparing to backup' and is copying files to backup drive. Gets to 57% and then fails with error 0x8078005D after remaining at 57% for a while.The error message has no detail so it is not possible to determine what file it was copying.I am not a technical expert, so please do not suggest doing

    Backup and Restore (windows7) fails in Windows 10

    Hi, I`ve encountered the error as below while using backup and restore feature(windows 7) in windows10

    error code: 0x800706BA. The RPC server is unavailable.

    Detail:

    Windows 10 Version1709 OSbuild 16299.125.

    Procesures like sfc /scannow and chkdsk are done and not helping.

    Windows Firewall is started and working properly.

    DCOM server process Launcher/RPC Endpoint Mapper/Remote Procedure Call(RPC) are working (and startup type is automatic).

    It fails even when only the system image and EFI partitions are backed up.

  3. Windows Backup & Restore fails with "Invalid Window Handle" Error Code: 0x80070578 - Still

    Hi,

    I'm running Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit and not a whole lot has changed on my system. I was checking my backup tonight and noticed that it had not run successfully since 10/25/2015, so I manually started the backup job. Every time, the backup fails close to the
    end with the following message: "Invalid Window Handle" Error Code: 0x80070578.

    Now, it's been backing up with no problems from launch day until October 25, 2015. I'm not sure what, if anything has changed on my PC except perhaps the Nvidia Graphics driver. I've searched this issue on the forums and no one else seems to be having this
    error in Windows 10, most the articles were talking about Windows 7. I tried all of the troubleshooting measures that were advised for the Windows 7 folks, but none of that has worked. In fact, none of the instances of this error were resolved for ANYONE
    who posted about having it.

    All help would be greatly appreciated, as I currently have no other backup solution and I prefer to always use the Microsoft Backup and Restore for compatibility reasons.

    Update: After 6 failed attempts at doing the full backup with image, I tried altering my strategy and chose the option to only create a system image. I was successful in creating a system image; so apparently something is wrong with the backup files and
    folders portion of the app.

    I have also tried the following possible fixes, none of which solve the problem:

    This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:


    • Volume shadow copy Service is not started.

    • Conflict between antivirus software.
    Try the steps listed here:

    Method 1:

    I would suggest you to make sure “Volume shadow copy Service” is enabled.

    Follow these steps:

    a. Press “Windows key + R” from the keyboard.

    b. Type “services.msc” without quotes in the “Run” Window and hit Enter.

    c. Search for “Volume shadow copy" service.

    d. Right click on it and select “Start” option.

    e. Close the “Services” Window.

    f. Check if the issue persists or not.

    Method 2:

    If the issue persists, I would suggest you to disable Antivirus software and check if it helps.
