Windows 10: Windows 10 backup scheduled tasks are not running unless a user is logged on to the PC why?

I have setup windows 10 backup to run twice a day but it will only run if I leave the user logged on to the PC. If the user logs off the backup task does not run as scheduled.

Unable to schedule tasks in Task scheduler with option run the task whether the user is logged in or not.

I am able to schedule tasks with the first option that is - run when the user is logged on. But when I try with the other option - run whether the user is logged on or not, it doesn't work.

 

Task Scheduler stops responding when deleting a task and tasks not run!

Dear Hahn, thank you for your your response. I am yet to try out the other suggestions/ trouble shooting steps from your reply. However, please make note of this:

1. Check Task Scheduler Service: Make sure the Task Scheduler service is running.

Result: Yes, it's running, Automatic start up; but shows Log on as: Local System

Q: Is this: Log on as: Local System an issue? Since I log on to Windows 10 with my Microsoft account
