Windows 10: Windows 10 battery icon disagrees with batter status pop-up

My laptop a Dell E5470 uses a Dell docking station most of the time. If it sits on there for more than a day the battery icon in the status area doesn't indicate that it is charging, it just stays at the level it was when docked, and if you hover over the icon it shows the "tooltip" stating it is 70%. The battery is charging and is fine I know this because if you click on the battery icon it shows me that the battery is 100% charged.As these percentages are both coming from Windows 10 then I think this is a Windows fault rather than a driver issue how can one window show 70% while the oth

Battery status not showing up

I have the same issue as the original poster and I followed the same steps given. However, this did not fix the problem. I still have no battery status icon on the taskbar and I cannot turn it on as it is a greyed out option. Are there any other steps
that can be taken to turn the batter icon back on?

Try this..

Open settings.

Click on Notifications & Actions.

Click on Which icons to appear on taskbar.

on that Make sure Batter icon is turned On.

If Not Turn it on,By Clicking it on right side.

Restart to take effect.

I already fixed the problem using my steps. The problem with your solution is that the option is greyed out making it inaccessible.

 

windows 10 - battery icon is missing

The battery icon might be hidden. I suggest you to follow the below steps to enable the Power option.

• Type quick actions in the search bar and click on Choose your quick actions.
• Click on Turn system icons on or off.
  
• Turn On the Power option and check if the issue persists.

I also suggest you to update the driver software and check.

Go to device manager:

Right click on: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

Select: update driver software

Click: search automatically
