Windows 10: Windows 10 Black screen error with only cursor responsive.

TL;DR: A power failure happened. Tried to reboot but experienced black screen with only cursor moving. Booted to Advance Startup.. Currently waiting for DISM /online but seems to be stuck at 9% for 3 hrs. now.


I only know that my laptop is a Aspire E series and it's windows 10. I can't remember its specs. It's always up-to-date even the NVIDIA graphics. I had it for 2 yrs.


My problem is that, I had a power failure last day and didn't had the chance to save my work. Tried to open today. It powered on but after the "ACER" logo, the screen just went black with only the cursor I can control. Waited almost 3 hrs. to see if the desktop will load but it didn't. Tried to boot the Advance Startup by turning the laptop on and off (saw it in some guides in Google). It had my laptop diagnosed for error and tried to fix the disk for almost 6 hrs. My laptop rebooted after but is still in black screen. Had to go to Advance Startup again and to CMD to enter DISM /online. I'm currently stuck at 9% for 3 hrs. now. Please help. Thanks.

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
