Windows 10: Windows 10, black screen when starting installer

In old , core 2 duo machines, when you try to install Windows 10 version grater than 1903 the installer doesnt start but shows a black screen with blinking underscore. I have try it on 10+ machines. Its obvious that the old hardware is to blame, but is there any workout? Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the problem? Old VGA?

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

I would suggest you try the power troubleshooter if you are able to boot into the system.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
• Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.

Windows 10 infinite restart black screen

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
