Windows 10: Windows 10 Blue Screen when connecting to an RNDIS device.

We have a legacy device that is connected to Windows XP systems using a USB RNDIS connection. The device is an embedded Linux controller that is used in power management systems. We have thousands of these devices in the field. They are happy and stable using RNDIS over USB to set up an Ethernet connection between a Windows XP machine and the embedded linux device. On attempting to build a new 'system' using windows 10 & the existing device, we find that Windows 10 regularly blue screens during the initial RNDIS negotiation. This issue might have happened due to the hardware replacement on your device.

Step 1: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Step 2: Also, contact your device manufacturer's website and update the BIOS drivers to check if the issue persists.
