    Hi,
    I've just bought new Asus R540LJ with SSD inside.
    I'm trying to install Windows 10 but I get blue screen just after it boots I supose.
    Nothing happens, just loading and blue screen.
    Tried with pendrive usb 3/dvd. Win 8.1 and Win 10.
    Is there anything I can do about it or should I send my laptop back where I bought it?

    Could be a factory fault, I would send it back.

    Apart from considering that option, if the computer supports USB 2.0, try connecting the install media to USB 2 port and start the installation.

    The fact that you have isolated the problem using Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 install media, would suggest there is a hardware problem.

    You could try some invasive diagnostics, but this could void warranty.

    Welcome to TenForums!

    That is strange...

    Doesn't the Asus R540LJ laptop come with Windows 10 already installed and working? Or, let us know if the machine did not come with an installed Operating System.

    Is this a brand new SSD drive? Has it been initialized?

    If not, and you first want to rule out issues with the SSD, CrystalDiskInfo can help you check the Solid State Drive's health:
    CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World

    There is also SSD Life, or, check if the manufacturer of the drive has its own utility.

  5. Thx for the reply.
    I bought this laptop yestarday, OS was not installed. I got one, so I don't need to buy another. The SSD is brand new.
    How can I initialize it? I cant install CrystalDiskInfo, as i got no OS on the disk *Wink And i don't want to move SSD to another PC cause this is a brand new laptop and I don't want to lose my guaranty.
    I will call to the shop I bought it tomorrow morning and see what they say about it. And maybe I will try contact ASUS tech support.

    The SSD disk is adata sp550 if it helps.

  7. Yes, its clean install, downloaded installer from microsoft website to be sure its valid. Win 10 Home 64 bit. While it goes to Secure Boot and UEFI, I will take a picture of my BIOS settings in a moment. I press ESC while laptop is turning on and chose [UEFI] Kingston...(dont remember exactly the rest).
    I've installed Win 10 2 times, Win8 several times, same with Win 7 and XP, so I think I know how to do it.

    Disable Launch CSM.

    Once you get into Windows setup, select the custom install option. The SSD should be listed as unallocated space. Select the unallocated space and click next to let Windows setup create the partitions it wants to. There is no need to "initialize" a new SSD or hard drive.

  10. Maybe the word initialize is not the right choice.

    @NavyLCDR, in the Windows Setup > Where do you want to install Windows, when the new SSD drive shows as Drive 0 Unallocated Space, don't you get an option called New, and if that is selected, a partition is created?

    Yes, that would be correct and that is NOT the option that you want to select when installing Windows. It has been my experience, and others on this forum, that it is best to click Next and let Windows setup create the partitions it wants to. Click NEW and you are manually creating a partition.

    After installing Windows is complete, the user can then shrink the OS partition if they want to and add their data partition if desired.

    I cant go into Windows setup, cause I get blue screen before. I will try with "Disable Launch CSM" in a moment.

  14. I tried disable CSM Launch, but nothing has changed.
    Depending on options I got few STOP CODES on blue screen, maybe it will help you:
    MEMORY MANAGEMENT
    IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
    SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION
    BAD POOL HEADER

    I think there were more then those 4, but i hadn't written them down.
