Windows 10: Windows 10 Bluetooth volume either muted or 100%

Hi! I have an HP Workstation laptop and I'm using my Philips True Wireless headphone with it over Bluetooth. This had no problem other than some minor issues caused by the headphones showing up as headphones and headset. This I quickly solved and I've had no issues since, and this has been about a year now, but in the last few weeks, my volume in Windows has stopped making any difference to the volume of the audio in my headphones. When I have it at 1% or more it is at 100% volume, and when I put it to 0% or muted it is muted. I've tried restarting the laptop multiple times, but I'm just not sure what the problem is. And when using the speakers the volume works great.

Windows will now mute volume

I am currently running windows 10. Whenever I use my keyboard to mute volume, my volume just jumps from whatever the volume is at to 100 and then back when i try to click mute again. the volume indicator jumps to 100 but the volume of sound does not increase
or decrease. All other multifunctional keys for sound work fine such as mute mic, increase or decrease volume. Just not mute volume. Not sure what is going on.

 

Volume Mixer not showing muted app

The application was muted on Windows 10 with November update. Now I am using Anniversary update, on build 14393.10

The initial step did not help make Banished show up in the Volume Mixer, nor did the article.

 

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision
