  1. Windows 10 BluRay Driver problem

I have an ASUS BW-16D1HT BluRay drive.

It has been working fine before. I could play cd's, dvd's, and BluRays fine.

I could also make backups of my BluRays, but recently I've tried making a backup of a new CD my wife bought, and it refused to read it.

And today I tried inserting a BluRay to make a backup, but it refuses to read that as well. In fact it kept trying to read it, and then windows crashed.

I rebooted, tried again, but windows crashed again. No error code or anything. It just completely froze up and I had to press the button to reboot.

I checked the firmware of the drive. its 1.01, but aparently you can't upgrade this one to the 3.02. I found someone who had forced it to update, but this bricked the drive. And the ASUS firmware updater for 3.02 says the firmware is up to date.

Windows says the driver is from 2006. Which is very old. Is there a newer driver anywhere?

ASUS only supplies the firmware, but not the driver on their website.

    Driver Version is 10.0.18362.1

    I'm on WIndows 10 Pro 1909

    :)

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

    Windows 10 BluRay Driver problem

    Bluray issues with Windows 10

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately none of those steps worked. The problem I'm running into is that device manager is not recognizing the second bluray burner at all. I've unplugged it from the mb, plugged it back in and it doesn't do anything.
I even tried plugging it into different ports on the mb and still nothing. The bluray burner worked perfectly fine the night before the install of Win10. It does have power to it, it opens and closes fine, it even goes through initialization when starting
up the computer. Please let me know of any other suggestions. Thank you.
