Windows 10: Windows 10 booting loop after clean format before the final set up

Hi, I tried to format my windows 10 hp laptop, which originally came with windows 8.1 and then was upgrated to Windows 10, to a new clean windows 10 install.


Through the format process, all the files were copied and istalled from the USB and finally, when it came to the last step, in order to set up the PC, the process asked me for a Windows 10 key, that I don't have. I saw that there was a skip activation button ("do it later") an pressed it. It continued to the next screen regarding the main security settings in relation to the permisions granded to windows and either i choose to personalise them or using the express settings, it boots again and the same procedure starts again and again.

Is there a solution anyone could provide me?

The first 10 times I upgraded from windows 8 and windows 7 with the microsoft upgrade tool and the issue was always there when I booted in windows 10. The other times I completely formatted the ssd and installed windows 10 fresh from an usb drive.

 

Windows 10 formatting ?

We upgraded windows 7 to 10. Many crashes and errors after that. So a format and clean install of windows 10. Activated automatically. Zero issues and no more crashes etc etc.
So I'm inclined to say to just go for it. And if a problem, then use your windows 7 key.

Are your files backed up so that you can format the drive now?

When you performed the re-installations did you do them as in place upgrade repairs or as clean installs?

1) find a flash drive that you can format
2) create a bootable windows 10 iso:
