Windows 10: Windows 10 bootmanager not found after updating to Windows 10 build 2004 or 2009

This is a major problem. I have a disk with GPT partition style which was converted from MBR to GPT using the Microsoft's own mbr2gpt tool, and never had any issues with Windows 10 updates, until my system jumped from build 1909 to 2004. It started the update proccess and at first restart, I got BOOTMGR is missing, and using UEFI boot menu I could not see Windows Boot Manager to boot from. So I reverted the update, using System restore, and it worked again. After Microsoft released build 2009 20H2, I tried to do an upgrade directly from 1909 to 2009, and same as before, BOOTMGR is missing.


There must be some kind of new boot behaviour introduced with build 2004, that breaks with partition style that was converted from MBR to GPT. A friend of mine called me, and got same problem, and I know his partition style was MBR too, which was converted to GPT using mbr2gpt


Aren't you going to fix this? I do not want to start a clean install.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
