Windows 10: Windows 10 boots into black screen after longer break

Hi all, I have problem with my Lenovo Yoga 3 14. Few days ago i replaced SSD drive and completly reinstalled W10. Since then I'm having weird issue. Alyways after longer break (more than 3hours) my machine boots into black screen (no cursor and no reaction for buttons). When I hold power button more than 10 sec it restarts and then works okey. When I'm rebooting or shutdown and power on again the problem didn't happen. I have tried disabling fast startup, changing graphic driver and all that i can find on forum. My problem happens alyways and alyways second startup fix the problem. What can it be ? *Smile

Why does it take 2 minutes to start Windows 10 after clean install?

I just did ANOTHER clean install of windows 10 and BEFORE I installed any updates, it booted fast. The black screen was only there before the log in for seconds. AFTER installing updates, it now boots slow again and the black screen lasts longer....

What a load of BULLSHlT... I don't even have any applications installed.

 

Long boot start / black screen before login

Hello, today I updated Windows 7 to 10 . After configuring the system, I decided to restart it. During startup, the Windows logo is displayed for about 5 seconds, then black screen for half a minute
... which is pretty damn annoying. Then login screen (automatic login ) and after 10 seconds desktop. Overall, the system boots 3 times longer than the old Win Seven ... So my question is , what to do in order to eliminate black screen when booting? It's probably
not normal that the system starts up for so long ... I have little application and order in the system , so it should boot fast like a Ferrari . This black screen would lead me to depression , so please help . I updated my Radeon drivers but no changes.

 

Hi, I'm just wondering if the Windows version you were running with previously was the Anniversary Edition (1607, 14393) and the one you have now installed is the current build, being the Creator's edition.

So.. prior to your replacing the SSD, had you upgraded to the Creator's edition?

And for your clean install, was the iso or boot medium you used one you created in the last couple of weeks, or an old one?

To confirm, what is your current build number?
(Windows key + R, winver)

I'm using W10 Education - version 1703 build 15063.250. For clean install I used microsoft iso from March.
Thanks for great lenovo site with tested devices. My yoga 3 14 HSW is present on list.

On previous SSD I was using the same Windows version, but installed from much older iso, and there was no problem.

 

Hi, there are quite significant differences between the major build you have now (Creator's upgrade), the preceding Anniversary edition (1607, 14393), and the one before that (TH2 / the 'November build' or 1511) and the first release (10240).

Some people are seeing problems with the new Creator's build they weren't experiencing before. In some cases, doing a clean install (rather than upgrading) helps.

So it seems your previous build - that worked- was probably the Anniversary build.

The question in my mind is this: have you installed any programs since clean installing the CU, and did your PC work normally after clean installing before you installed any programs?

 

The only things I installed was drivers from lenovo. Now I'm trying to install different graphic drivers but with no success. Maybe you are right about newer version. So I'll wait for updates. I'm used to dual booting *Smile
I'm used to dual booting.

 

With the newer edition, there will be a new driver map... that is, the drivers may not be the same versions you had installed with the previous build I assume you were using.
