Windows 10: Windows 10 Bricked my Ethernet Controller

I am running latest Windows 10 on an Asus P8P67 LE motherboard which has a Realtek 8111e Network Controller.
It started after I turned my computer on one morning, having apparently gone to sleep/shut off the night before on its own. I held the power button so if it was asleep it did not get a chance to wake up. Immediately, the ethernet was not working and so I followed the advice of another thread here and tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver. However the trouble began when the Realtek installer failed due the following error:

"The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."

Plugging in the cable had no effect.

Network reset had no effect.

Enabling and disabling the Ethernet Controller in the Asus UEFI BIOS had no effect.

Leaving the RAM and CMOS out for a couple hours had no effect.

There was no ethernet controller detected in device manager, even with "Show hidden devices" There was a "Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter" but from what I seem to understand it's unrelated, nor anything in "Other devices". This prevented me from disabling "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" or manually installing the drivers. It was at this point I wiped the Windows drive, reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 10 and unplugged all my other drives, still to no effect.

Installing all the latest motherboard drivers had no effect.

Attempting in safe mode had no effect.



So I am now stuck unable to detect any ethernet controller drivers or install new ones. 'Bricked'.


In the interim I am barely managing with an ethernet-usb adapter but curiously it seems to sometimes be disappearing on startup like the Realtek driver. This time rather rather than uninstall the driver I disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and the adapter works again. So it seems that is what happened to the Realtek driver until I made it worse by uninstalling as recommended. Additionally, it seems I still have not figured out how to disable the 'deep sleep' feature in my motherboard despite looking through all the BIOS menus granted not all the terms were identifiable to me.

Ethernet controllers problems

thats what i have been doing is going to the device mgr and clicking the the let me choose. but it always says "windows can not install your ethernet controller. And there the Ethernet Controller isnt in the list..im going to be working on this all night. I just got back from work.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

ethernet Controler

I have just got Windows 10 for free and the Ethernet controller will not let me access the internet and I don't have a way to go back to windows 7 Home and I would like to get this working so I don't have to get other motherboard and suggestions
