Discus and support windows 10 browser downloads in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; can someone explain to me why when you download through explorer edge why the downloads go to a folder, I would prefer to download and just drop on...     can someone explain to me why when you download through explorer edge why
    the downloads go to a folder, I would prefer to download and just drop on the
    desktop instead of in a folder in a different location

    windows 10 browser downloads

    Right now there is no setting to change to direct the download to another location other than the download folder.

    You can add a registry value to specify a download folder.

    Run: regedit

    Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wek yb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge\Main

    Add a new string called: Default Download Directory

    Change the value to the folder you want, e.g. C:\Users\coldy\Desktop
