Windows 10: Windows 10 BSOD and hanging / freezing

My laptop freezes on me at times, and will also show a blue screen error message some other times. These problems started happening a couple of months ago, but are now happening more frequently. Each time my laptop freezes, I am unable to do anything. Key strokes and mouse clicks / movements are unresponsive. I'm not doing anything strenuous while using my laptop when it freezes or blue-screens on me, using only things like the Notepad application and Google Chrome.


I tried looking at the system logs and reliability history, but I fail to see any explanation. The blue screen error I get is "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".


I have all of the latest Windows 10 updates that I can possibly get build 1909. I know that there is another update available build 2004, but the Windows Update section doesn't show the update yet. I have the latest hardware driver updates, which I get automatically updated through ASUS, and I also make sure to keep my graphics drivers updated for both nVidia and AMD chipsets. I have scanned the laptop for viruses, but did not find anything. I have done a disk check on C Drive with the chkdsk command, a system file check with the sfc command, and an extended memory check using the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. None of the checks found any issues.


I have lost work at least twice because of this happening, and I am starting to get quite angry. I have only had this laptop for about 8 months. Please help me if you can. If you need certain dump files or system specs, I will round them up for you. Thanks in advance.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
