Windows 10 BSOD and strange issues.

Hello, i'm wondering if anyone could help with an issue i've been experiencing the last few days.

Initially it started off as a BSOD and restart while playing a game, but upon closer inspection has become much worse.

Everytime I attempt to play the game or use a browser for a while the computer will BSOD and restart.

Each time it restarts it does not save anything and reverts back to a few days ago, so I can save a file or create a new one and on each reset it has gone. This is only on my local disc (CWindows 10 BSOD and strange issues. :), while disc (DWindows 10 BSOD and strange issues. :) is used for mainly storage and has had no issues with file saving.

The error messages tend to be along the lines of memory management, page fault in non paged area, Wdfilter.sys among others.

As i've not much on the computer itself i'm happy to reinstall and clear off the drive, and have attempted to use a usb to do so via the ' Microsoft media creation tool' but it has an error at the end of each installation even when I use BIOS, including when booting using the usb and running the installation via that method. The error code is: offline locale error code 0x80000010.

Attempts to reinstall windows via settings/recovery always lead to being made to restart, which return me to my previous settings and no changes at all.

The potential for it to be a virus has crossed my head, and i've attempted to use Msert, Malwarebytes but the computer will BSOD and restart bringing me back to a point where I hadn't downloaded either of these programs.

Add to this that my windows update won't update both "2018-09 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4100347) -Error 0x800700de"

and "Definition Update for Windows Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Definition 1.279.1522.0) -Error 0x800b0003".

Add to this my Nvidia geForce has an update which I to cannot download due to bsod and restarting. I have attempted to disable and uninstall thinking it could be driver related, this but it appears to not to have an effect.

I'm quite happy to reinstall windows and clear the drive to start fresh, but everything I have tried so far won't allow me to do so.

If anyone happens to have some advice for me it'd be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    A.Peers

    :)

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Windows 10 BSOD and strange issues. :(

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

    Heres a couple examples:

    Here

    Here

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update problems and complaints
    • Installation problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Microsoft Edge problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Drivers problems with the Fall Creators Update
    • Experience problems with the Fall Creators Update
keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....
