    Windows 10 BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0x1000009f ntoskrnl.exe


    As stated in the title, I experienced a BSOD on windows 10 reading BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0x1000009f ntoskrnl.exe Thanks BlueScreenView!. I found instructions for Driver Verifier, ran it, and sure enough, DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION 0x000000c4 klids.sys.

    System specifications: Intel Core i5 4460, ASRock H81M-HDS motherboard, 8GB DDR3 RAM in 2x 4GB DIMM modules dual channel, XFX AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU, Linksys WUSB6100M WiFi adapter, generic bluetooth USB dongle.


    I suspect the WiFi adapter may be the cause, it drops out from time to time and does strange things to the system network stack when it drops out. I can use my phone as a makeshift WiFi adapter but I would like to avoid that if at all possible. The current WiFi adapter doesn't reliably drop out so I'll keep using it for now. I'll update if dropouts become more frequent.

    Ntoskrnl BSOD

    • Update your Realtek audio driver.
    • Update your computer.
    • Disable overclocking settings.
    • Turn off BlueStacks/ another Android emulator.
    • Clean your registry.
    • Check your disk for errors.
    • Fix bad memory issues.
    • Remove faulty sticks of RAM.
