Windows 10: Windows 10 BSOD for no reason, then does not list SSD in BIOS

I've been running windows 10 on a brand new build for over a month without any problems - until today.Out of the blue, the lovely BSOD pops up, the system resets, and goes directly into BIOS...Where my SSD is NOT listed. Long story short, I fixed it. The fix is to cut power to the system unplug from wall, flip the switch on the PSU, whatever... wait a minute, then turn it back on. Viola, it's fixed....imagine that.Seems I'm not the only one that's ran into this issue. As I mentioned, everything was fine for the past month+....I'm not on a laptop, nor have I installed any new drivers/software

Windows 10 SSD Boot and Sleep faliure

Windows cannot stop the BIOS recognising the SSD. If at any time you can go into the BIOS and the SSD is not listed then you have an (intermittent) hardware fault. It does not matter what the precursor steps are if the hardware was OK it must be listed

Step 6 is categorical, you have a hardware fault. BIOS device recognition is always before drivers load so they cannot affect the process

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
