Windows 10: Windows 10 BSOD: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

Hi, I just got a BSOD saying IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. While the BSOD was collecting the error info, the monitor screen was kinda flickering as well. So it automatically restarted, then I noticed that the resolution doesn't look right. I checked Device Manager and found a warning icon on GTX 750 Ti's driver. The NVIDIA Control Panel was not present in the system tray and when right-clicking on the desktop as well. Then, the screen just turned black, I couldn't do anything so I just switched the PSU button off. I booted it up again, the resolution still doesn't look right, then this time, the screen just turned into something pinkish white, I switched the PSU button off again.


Then I unplugged all the cables so I could take a better look at the system unit's back panel ports. I plugged it all back and booted it again. This time, everything's working fine. I can access the NVIDIA Control Panel again from the system tray and by right-clicking on the desktop. Still, I want to know what caused it and how I can prevent it from happening again. BSOD - IRQL Not Less or Equal Error

I've been getting BSODs every few days recently with IRQL Not Less or Equal errors. Following the procedures

from this Microsoft Answer, I ran Driver Verifier. I got repeated BSODs at that point (with no .sys file listed in the error, unfortunately), and had to restore from a System Restore point to get back into Windows.
