Windows 10 BSODs once per bootup, every day, the bluescreen disappears too quickly to read,...

I've been having computer issues with random BSODs for several months now, which led to me completely reformatting my drives and reinstalling Windows 10, which fixed the issues for a few weeks until recently. Now, every day when I boot up my computer, it runs fine for a few minutes before crashing too quickly for the bluescreen to be read and then running fine for the rest of the day. I've run memtest86 and it said it passed, and crystaldiskinfo says that both my drives are in good condition. No minidumps were generated except for when I ran driver verifier. Driver verifier seemed to implicate

    4850 BSOD the usual

My 4850 merrily BSODs about once every 2 days it especially enjoys doing it when I'm playing a game, and then after the reboot it sometimes throws in another BSOD for good measure, with a few visual glitches at bootup, if it's in that sort of mood.

It used to be more frequent (I had the pleasure of seeing my game disappear 2x a day) but I lowered my CPU voltage to normal and that seemed to improve things.

Btw the card isn't behaving like a 4850 the rest of the time either Overdrive claims it has a clock speed of 0MHz whereas ATi tool insists that it is 65,000MHz, also DXDiag says that it has 2GB of Graphics memory and DirectX 10 (instead of 10.1), and also claims my computer has 3.3GB of RAM. Not to mention the fact that furmark gives it a repulsively low score.

Any suggestions, apart from reinstalling windows?

    Bluescreen Crashes in Windows 10

There are a few things that I notice with these errors, they are nearly all hardware 0x124 errors which are difficult to troubleshoot because there is so little information.

Most of them occur when the Norton Security process is running so a first step would be to uninstall Norton and just use Windows Defender while we are troubleshooting.

There was one different BSOD error: 0x18 Reference by Pointer
    Probably caused by : BHDrvx64.sys ( BHDrvx64+114761 )

You need to update or rollback your Symantec Heuristics Driver. Maybe this is part of the Norton install so it may be removed anyway.

Check if there has been any improvement and if not then you will need to work through your hardware:

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
