Windows 10: Windows 10 "bug" not shutting your PC completely when you press "shut down"

I saw a video where the person said that your PC will not shut completely since (i think) the last update. So i checked at task manager on the performance tab and i haven't stopped the PC since 5 days apparently. Just to let you know.

The person on the video said that if you turn off the PC while holding shift it will shut down completely as much as i remember

Maybe it im just clueless and it was intended but i don't think it should be working like that.

Windows 10 is unable to complete shut down

We suggest doing these troubleshooting steps below:

Method 1. Hard Reset

• Shut down your computer.
• Remove the cable and wires connected to your computer.
• Press the Power button for 10 seconds to completely drain your device.
• Check if there's any changes.

Method 2. Shutdown trick.

• Press Windows key.
  
• Press and hold Shift.
• Click the Power icon.
• Select and click Shutdown.

Let us know the outcome.

 

W 10 will not shut down completely

I have not changed the Intel Search Engine to a previous version as suggested, so I cannot say whether it works for my computer or not.

What bothers me is that after Windows updates when my computer is on and I select reboot now instead of 3 a.m., the shut down and reboot process works fine. So, with my logic, I wonder how it can shut down completely after an update, but not when I shut
down at the end of a normal day. I feel like the ability is there, but a step is missing.

C DeFazio - I have the same issue with Windows 10 not shutting down completely and have tries the various suggestions concerning Power. Also, I get no error messages and the computer boots properly after each shut down. However, if I did not power the
PC down after it goes trough shutdown, it would not start since the power and wifi lights remain on.
