Windows 10: Windows 10 Build 10240 - Cumulative Update KB3147461

Looks like version 10240 per enclosed screenshot.

*UPDATE* Worked with 2 MS Online Tech Support Reps and each time same result: Net Bits is stopped along with, Cryptsvc, and Wuaserv, and a utility to see if files are corrupted, the update is downloaded, but won't install. Error's out that it can't complete and rolls back the changes. Upon reboot, more of the same as it attempts to install again. 2nd Rep had me download Windows 10 to reinstall the whole system, more of the same, can't install. If you look at my earlier post, I ran "sfc" and other utilities, hard drive is sound, files not corrupted.

Reached the point of no return and am really fed up (not due to anyone's efforts here). As of this writing, I have formatted my Windows partition, and am reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch. VERY disappointed in MS that this update will not work though I have literally changed nothing on this PC, not even adding any software between updates.

As Brink originally asked in this post if anyone is having problems with this update - Count me in...front row and center!

 

Not the most elegant solution, but reformatting my HD and reinstalling Windows 10 did the trick. Per screenshot below, I am now at Version 1511, OS Build 10586.218.

For those that read this in the future, I also had Acronis Trueimage 2014 installed that is not Windows 10 compatible (2014 and earlier versions are not). I think this had something to do with me not being able to update to this build. All other updates prior to this one posed no issues. If I were to do this over again, I would have uninstalled Acronis first, but I was getting frustrated.

Anyway, thanks for all of your time and assistance. I'm back on track now and have some work to do reinstalling my software.

 

I got updated to 1511 yesterday and got the patch almost immediately after.

Result: editing group policy comes up with *2* error messages - twice each - whenever I start it.

One about an invalid namespace (for which I found an official microsoft workround but 4 months after release you'd have thought they could have issued a fix for it, considering it involves running an elevated command prompt, taking ownership of a file and deleting it) and one which doesn't have an official workround, involving a complaint about windowsstore.amx around line 40 - for which I did discover instructions, but am slightly worried to apply them as they aren't from microsoft).

I'm not terribly impressed especially as the official documentation on the first one says

"Scenario - you upgraded windows 10 to version 1511"

as if that was an unusual thing to do

I haven't seen the 'workaround' for the problem. I'm getting the same message twice on Win10 Pro 1511 10586.218, the latest. I'm also getting about 5 or 6 different errors when opening GPEDIT.MSC on the latest Insider Preview version [different computer].

 

The entire Pershing Netx360 desktop system is down for 100's of thousands of users since the update - at least those using Win10.

Individual reps reporting to brokerage support lines from their almost 1000 dealers they clear for.

Online system works but is not as complete or as easy to use as desktop versions many reps use.

Broker support says Pershing IT trying to fix it but was MS KB3147461/KB3147458 that is the issue. Our IT trying to help reps roll back the patch. I major issue with a critical brokerage program for many.

That did get rid of the first error but now I get a different line error,





Line 107 instead of 140 I was getting.
