Windows 10: Windows 10 build 1809 wake-up on LAN issue

My MSI MEG creation x399 motherboard uses dual Intel i211 NIC's that I needed in a LAG team which couldn't be done in Windows 10 build 1809 without installing the new Intel 23.5.2 drivers that require the use of POWERSHELL to implement teaming as Microsoft is removed the Windows interface properties in 1809.

This brings me onto the issue in my question is it now seems that the windows properties interface implementation of wake-up on LAN now seems to not work as it did previously on 1803 with the same BIOS configuration and standard setup as before like disabling fast start-up in the power options et cetera.

I would be grateful if somebody could confirm that they've got it working on their motherboard with our without an Intel NIC's in Windows build 1809, and if so how?

MSI support recommend going to a older Intel driver that is not supported in Windows 1809 and would require me roll them back to 1803. Also Intel support has also not been helpful as they also require me to also roll back to the earlier version of Windows and the older MSI Intel drivers which is no solution at all.


Total qualify this doesn't seem to be my implementation as I followed the steps I previously used that worked but it seems to be that Microsoft and Intel haven't coordinated the testing of this functionality which was also the case with the teaming issue that required them to bring out a new 23.5.2 driver that you can read about in this Intel thread.

How to setup wake-on-lan?

Here is some info.
It seems Windows 7 supports WoWLAN (Wake on Wireless LAN).
But, your adapter has to support it from what I can gather.

Configure Wake on Wireless LAN (WoWLAN)
Wake-on-Wireless LAN

Wake on Wireless LAN @ Revolution Wi-Fi


Try googling WoWLAN and wake on wireless lan.

EDIT: What wireless card do you have?

Wake On LAN is Not Working


I have been unable to get Wake on LAN functionality to work in Windows 10:

• I am attempting to do a Wakeup on LAN to my desktop computer which is running Windows 10 from my laptop which is also running Windows 10. The desktop computer is connected to my router through a wired Ethernet connection and the laptop is connected to the same router via a wireless connection
• I'm doing this within my Local Area Network so I'm not going through a router from the external network
• I've upgraded the driver on my network adapter to the latest version
• I've enabled all the required functionality in the BIOS to enable Wake on LAN
• I've turned on all the required settings in my network adapter to enable Wake on LAN
• I've disabled "Fast Startup" in Windows 10
• I'm using the "Wake on LAN" software application from Aquila Technology
• The software is installed on both my desktop and laptop and I've tested it with the desktop in "listening" mode and verified that the desktop receives "magic" wake-up packets when it is up-and-running
• When my desktop system is powered down and I send it a Magic Packet in exactly the same way as I did when it was powered up, nothing happens and it doesn't respond to the wake-up packet

Any suggestions of what I can do to further troubleshoot this problem?
