Windows 10: Windows 10 Calendar App - Calendars

Hi,

I hope its not too much of a FAQ but...

In Win10 Calendar app, what are all the calendars on the left? I see Cortana, Outlook and Microsoft Account. Each one has one or more named calendars below them. It seems only the Outlook calendar is able to sync across to my IPhone running the outlook app.

Lost Calendar Entires Upgrading to Windows 10

Dear Microsoft Engineer,

This problem have been reported by several users on the microsoft support forums without a satisfactory resolution or answer.

The problem is as follows:

Past calendar entries made prior to windows 10 upgrade (i.e., calendar entries made using windows 8.1 calendar app), do not appear in windows 10 calendar app. So anything entered in the windows 8.1 calendar app, doesn't show in the windows 10 calendar app.

These entries (made using the windows 8.1 calendar app) can still be viewed in the calendar through the web browser. So the past entries still exist, but they have not migrated to the windows 10 calendar app.

The problem seems to be with the windows 10 calendar app not importing entries made in the windows 8.1 calendar app.

Fix = Import all entries from user's calendar into win 10 calendar app, and not only entries made using the win 10 app.

 

How to View Shared Calendar in Windows 10 Calendar App

No this issue has to do with the Windows 10 Calendar App. I said I was using office 365 as my email and calendar needs. I am using the Calendar App that comes with Windows 10.

The Calendar in office 365 lets me view shared caledars.

I want to be able to view shared calendars when using the calendar app that comes with Windows 10

Just came across those in passing.. I don't have an iphone myself. Hopefully someone who's tried this will comment.

 

I don’t know much about cortana, I don’t let that anywhere near my iPhone. But my outlook calendar syncs to my iPhone without the need for the outlook app. I have my ms account setup in the iPhone accounts so that I can use it in the native mail app. One of the account sliders is also for calendars which I have switched on. So the native calendar app on the iPhone is then able to see the outlook calendars including family (if you use family accounts) and can add entries too. It’s pretty good because my Mac, Windows pc, iPhone, iPad and also echo dot can all read the outlook calendars and sync between themselves no matter which device I use to add an entry. Personally I’d try and keep cortana off your iPhone, I feel it’s a recipe for problems but that’s just my take on it
