Windows 10: windows 10 calendar location suggestions not working

I have been using the windows 10 calendar for a couple of years and all of the sudden it does not show suggested locations anymore. I used this feature all the time and can't figure out what happened. Any suggestions?

Windows 10 calendar event location suggestions

I just upgraded from a Windows 8.1 phone to a Lumia 950xl, which I am enjoying. I'm posting because of a perceived loss of functionality:

When running Calendar on my 8.1 phone, Windows would suggest a location for an event, which was very handy--when entering a venue name, Windows would offer auto-completed suggestions that included the name and street address.

When entering new Calendar events on my new Windows 10 phone (950xl), Windows no longer makes these suggestions. Turns out, Windows 10 Calendar on my desktop also doesn't make location suggestions.

Is this expected behavior? If so, I'd like to ask that the location suggestions return. If not, any pointers to fixes are appreciated.

No Location Suggestions when adding a New Event to Calendar

Nokia 1020 on the latest Dev Preview in UK.

Under Phone Settings I've got Location Services Turned on and in the Calendar Settings I've checked the box to 'Use my location to show the weather and suggested places'. However when I add a new event and start typing in the location textbox I receive no
suggestions. With the same Dev Preview on my wife's Nokia 620 the Location suggestions are working fine. Any suggestions would be welcome as internet searching has not yielded any hints or suggestions. (I've tried a soft reset with no success)

 

Can't seem to start Windows 10 calendar. (Home edition version 1607)

Okay then.
Things seem to be working now.
Regardless of if my account is an Administrator or standard user.
An regardless of if the accounts are local or Microsoft. (I tested everything)

How ?
I pasted the following in my browser: windowsreport.com/windows-10-app-wont-open/
And then followed the instructions.
It was step 8, that seems to have fixed it for me.
It wasn't working after step 7 (I know. Cuz I tested it.)
It was step 8.
And for all I know, I could have skipped directly to step 8 and the Calendar would have started working.
Oh well.

I believe I found the above (windowsreport.com/windows-10-app-wont-open/), somewhere on "this" site.

Prior to the above, I did almost everything that people and articles suggested.
Including the MS trouble shooter for windows apps tool, and the power shell commands for uninstalling and then reinstalling the apps.
Nothing worked for me until I followed the above.
