Windows 10: Windows 10 - Cannot upgrade from 1803 to 1903. (Frozen at 48%)

For the longest time, I have not been able to upgrade to Windows 10 x64 1903 from 1803, keeps freezing at 48%. Reinstalling windows is not an option because I have licensed software with limited activations (**** this kind of licensing, honestly). However, my line of work also requires me to have everything up to date, so... I'm stuck in a rather unpleasant situation.


Here's the panther/rollback logs, hopefully it'll have some useful information. I can't seem to pinpoint what driver is hanging the upgrade if it's the case. Maybe someone else can find what's causing this.

Windows 10 Pro 1803 Upgrade to 1903 Black Screen at 48%

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

I have done most of the steps as mentioned in your post.
I have removed all the USB devices, left only the MB, Display Card, SSD (C drive) and Data Drive (D drive).
1) chkdsk c: /scan - normal no bad sector.
2) SFC /scannow





3) BIOS - latest as per in Asus website.
4) C drive free space is about 110GB
5) setuperr.log and CBS.log as attached, setupact.log is about 150MB and not able to attach here.

It happens to Bluescreen appeared after i have left the PC on for about 15 mins after the black screen appear. it shows DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG failure. Not sure is PNP referring to the plug and play display card as I only left this card in the PC system.




Thinking to trying 1809 version but unable to find it in MS website.

I have recently trying to upgrade my windows 10 pro from 1803 to 1903 due to end support in Nov 19 message given by MS.
I have tried all the upgrade method and all given the same result.
1) Upgrade from windows update and setting.
2) ISO file - with the drivers, etc. updates uncheck. only keep my files and programs.
3) Media create tools etc.
The upgrade will complete windows 10 installation, but when come to restart for updating, it reaches 30% and restart again, and continues the upgrade, when reaches 48%, the upgrade blue screen will become black screen and stop there.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
