Windows 10: Windows 10 can't download and install upgrades

Hi, I recently bought a HP Envy 17t with Windows 10 64 Bit on it. The first thing I did was to check if any updates were available, there were, and I downloaded and installed them. I checked again about 10 after that (about 2 weeks after getting the laptop). Since then however I can't install any upgrades. I start the download/install process, then leave. When I get back a couple of hours later, I see an error message saying that the MS servers could not be reached.

I don't know what's going on here. I haven't been able to download and install any Windows or MS Office upgrades in over 4 weeks.

Can anyone help me please.

Windows Update Windows 10 download vs installation

Can't seem to find an answer to this.

Does the July 2016 deadline to upgrade to Windows 10 for free refer to the complete installation or just the download? I reserved my upgrade months ago and it's listed in my windows update as downloaded and ready to install. Just don't want to upgrade yet.

Also, I have other updates for Windows 7 that I'd like to install now, but even if the Windows 10 upgrade is not checked (or even if it's hidden) it will force the Windows 10 installation and not the other previous updates. Is there a way around this without
losing my free Windows 10 upgrade?

Any advise is appreciated!

 

Windows 10 Creators Update

After I install the new Windows 10 Creators Update

I can't download nothing from anywhere.

Not only that the last Windows 10 that I had installed, Windows 10 Anniversary update was lost.

So I can't rollback to that Windows 10.

Can you please tell me why the New Windows 10 Creators Update is giving everyone so many problems,

like letting you download stuff from a site that you would like to download from.

Also since I can't rollback to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update for it was lost

when it was this upgrade was done,

is there anyway I can get a download or install for Windows 10 Anniversary otherwise,

the only rollback I have is what I can get is on the disk that came with my computer Windows 8.1.

Win 10 Home or Pro ?
If it is Pro, find out if you have accidentally enabled the Defer upgrades option.

Settings > Update & Security > Advanced options > Defer uogrades
