    Windows 10 can't find UDFS burned files, only CDFS


    So I have a 4.7 GB DVD+R (formally CDFS formated) with burned files (from my father's)... I formatted it to UDF since Windows insisted me to (I was on my cousin's laptop before the pc im using rn gets repaired)... Successfully burned a 2 GB video (idk why lol) by splitting it. However, when i try to access the disc again (due to dvd player not detecting it), it mounts the disc in CDFS. Can't find the other "partition" as well. Frustated and worried (because the backup file i have deleted it to lift up the burden on my USB), i thought of asking some help for this issue to the pros there..

    some info:

    - Windows 10 Build 18362 (x64)

    - used software to burn said vid file: nero burning rom

    - used system as well on that time: windows 7 64bit

    Hi Kenny,

    I am going to make a few assumptions here.

    1. You are using a version of Windows 10
    2. You already know how to use the software
    If these assumptions are incorrect, then I apologize. Can you actually see the media files on the cd? If so, then it should be straightforward. If not, then the files themselves are probably *.cda files. CDA files are not visible in Windows 10 File Explorer
    by default. In order to view these files, the cdfs and udfs file system drivers have to be enabled... You can enable this manually at the command line or you can visit ServiWin: Windows Services/Drivers Tool (start/stop/restart service) and download that utility. It will show you
    the disabled drivers in red and you can enable the cdfs and udfs drivers. You have to run them with elevated privs (ie. Administrator) for the changes to take. Afterwards, you will be able to see the files on your older burned cd's and can then use the utility
    of your choice to transfer your ripped albums. Again, previous assumptions apply... Hope this helps someone...

    Burning Files To cdr

    I tried to drag a .txt file to the burn list, as suggested above, but it will not drop in. I get a message "+add to burn list" but I cannot get it to drop into the burn list. Is there another step I am missing?

    UDF reader

    When I insert a disk created some time ago that is supposed to contain video files, it shows as DVD RW drive (H) UDF Reader 0 bytes free of 510 KB CDFS

    Is there any way I can recover these videos. When I click autorun on this disk, nothing happens.
