Error: 0xA00F429F<WindowShowFailed>(0x887A0004) when using Camera after updating to Windows 10 1809

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to use the Camera application after updating to Windows 10 1809. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue by changing registry key and resetting the app. For more clarity on the issue,
please respond to the question below.

• Have you tried using any other application, which uses Camera?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to please follow the steps mentioned below and check if that helps.

Method 1:

I would suggest you to try re-installing the Camera app and check if that helps.

1. Press Windows + X key and select
   Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Now type in the command:
   Get-AppxPackage *camera* | Remove-AppxPackage
   
3. Restart the PC
   

Once the PC restarts download and install the app from

Microsoft store.

If the issue still persists, please follow the next method and check if that helps.

Method 2:

I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if you are able to use the Camera app. Refer the article

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
