  1. Windows 10 causing BSOD with conflicting drivers somehow (pls help- long winded post)

So I built my pc in late August: worked like a charm for about 2 weeks. That was until I kept getting random crashes in my games and then it moved to freezing my entire damn pc, and then I factory reset it, and then it keeps giving me BSODs due to some kind of driver issues with windows 10 and other drivers. Need help.

My specs are Ryzen 5 2600, Gigabyte B450 AORUS Pro (Wifi), Ripjaws 16gb DDR4-3200 , and Gigabyte Radeon RX 5500 XT 8gb. All brand new parts, working fast in tandem with each other.

Here's the list in order of BSODs:

    1. system_thread_exception_not_handled -(dxgmms2.sys failed)
    2. driver verifier detected violation -(I then factory reset it)
    3. system service exception -(afd.sys failed)
    4. kernel_security check failure
    5. kmode exception not handled
    6. another system service exception -(didn't say what failed)

And on top of all of this, it's hard to run even the smallest games because it will crash for no reason. I only get information from playing Vermintide Warhammer 2 when it crashes, but all It could confirm is that it could potentially be an issue with conflicting drivers somehow (which im only 80% sure on).

A lot of the time before BSOD crashes 1-2 my entire f*cking PC would just freeze ALL together, and I could hover over icons and click them but it wouldn't open up any programs or shut down/reset/sleep, needing me to turn off my PC manually. It froze up like that during gaming and web browsing. Wouldn't even give me BSODs.

After these random freezes at some point- I'm pretty sure at the 2nd BSOD crash- I ran Driver Verifier Manager to see if I could fix something with help of looking up things from google (I'm a novice at PC building and software so bare with me). I ticked off "Create Standard settings", then "selected drivers name from a list", and only ticked off boxes to verify drivers that were NOT from Microsoft. At that point I clicked "finished"... and that's when I couldn't get out of an infinite BSOD loop where it kept detecting a violation with the Driver Verifier.

After my factory reset I redownloaded some games and a few drivers -not the CPU/GPU drivers tho- it ran well again up until another week, and that's when it started to crash for no reason again. This time giving me BSODs. It happens less frequently and without random entire PC freezes (thank god) but it still crashes my games for NO REASON. And at this point I'm really not sure why, if there's any information I need to know that I don't know to fix this advice and help would sincerely be appreciated. It keeps crashing and I'm just not sure what to do at this point. Web Browsing is okay for me, although it still rarely causes crashes and says "somethings wrong with the web page" and I have to reload the page sometimes. I'm not sure why that's an issue.

Just frustrated and want my PC to function well without constantly crashing and potentially ruining itself.

    What causes a BSOD?

    In my experience its:
    - Unstable OC
    - Bad RAM
    - Bad Driver/ Driver conflict
    - Dodgy Windows Update
    - Wrong BIOS Settings
    - Failing HDD
    - Hardware conflict / BIOS conflict (I have had this!)

Other than one windows update, Vista has been rock stable for me, I could never get XP like this.
Have you got a problem with something then? Or is it just a general Q?

From what I've seen, an insufficient PSU will cause a reboot or hard lockup. A BSOD is a software reboot. Though in fairness, any of the HW things I mentioned above can cause hard lockUps at their extreme.
