Windows 10 Change OS Boot Information

In Windows 7 you could do this trough msconfig.exe abnd get this http://i50.tinypic.com/biszna.jpg while booting the system

is there a way to do the same in Windows 10 Pro x64 AU? Same method does not seem to work.

    :)

OS boot information - msconfig Windows 10

I have the same issue trying to diagnose sporadic SSD boot times. In windows 7, you could use the feature to see which driver load takes the longest. Now I cant seem to get boot information instead of the logo spinning dot screen.

OS boot information - msconfig Windows 10

    Dear all,

I am looking into solving an issue with msconfig. I have confirmed (in Boot tab, Boot options) that:

    1. I can boot with 'No GUI'

    2. my boot log is functioning

    3. base video works

    4. I cannot boot with 'OS boot information'. All I can see is a black screen that proceeds into the welcome/log on page. I have had a very basic discussion on Chat support in which the consultant rejected my claim that this problem is pertinent to

    this
    and
    this
    unresolved discussion.

Any new insight, feedback, and help, is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Boris

That screenshot looks like it was loading Win7 in Safe Mode. And from what I remember of Win7 it doesn't look complete. There are posts here about booting into Safe Mode, can't point to a specific post but a Search should find it.

    Hello dtoxic,

I played around with this, and I see the same thing as you.
Selecting the OS boot information checkbox in Win 7 works differently than in Win 10 (and Win 8.1).
In Win 7 i see a list of drivers installing, i don't see this in 8.1 or 10.
    I don't know of a workaround/fix, but it's not just you.

I've never selected the OS boot information checkbox before, so no experience here.

Now, can i ask some questions ?
The W7 driver list scrolls by so fast i can't read it.
If a driver install fails/hangs does the list "pause" there, so you can see what driver is causing a problem ?
Is that the reason for using this msconfig checkbox ?

I don't know if they broke this or changed the way it works after Win 7 *Sad

The list scrolls fast if you have an SSD (HDD different story), you dont have to read it (unless it hangs)
The drivers are not installed they are loaded, and yes if there is a problem with any one driver the list stops (hence easier to troubleshoot problems if they occur in that stage of loading),Yes thats the reason (i think) for using that particular check box.

Nothing vitally important, i am just used to that *Smile anyway thx for trying.

Yea, i said installing by mistake, i did see they are loading *Redface

I can see where this info could help troubleshooting.
I've never had a driver load issue, i don't know if there is a log that show's this that could help.
Someone else may be able to help with that, or a recommended 3rd party utility for W10.

Well on the same page,if you select boot log a file will be created somewhere in windows folder (forgot where) there you can see all the drivers loading, or you can use "Autoruns" by sysinternals.com to see all the drivers that are loading/loaded.
