Windows 10: Windows 10 closing lid set to 'do nothing' doesn't work

Hello,

I'm trying to use my windows laptop with an external monitor but I'm having some problems.

I want to close the lid of my laptop while continue working only on my external monitor.

So i set the settings of 'choose what closing the lid does' to 'do nothing' but it doesn't work.

When I close the lid, the laptop goes dark anyway.

I tried changing power plans and everything but nothing works.

Any idea?

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Sleep mode when lid is closed

When I close the lid of my Lenovo laptop with Windows 7, the computer doesn NOT go to sleep. The settings in Control Panel are correct: When I Close The Lid I have put SLEEP for battery and plugged in mode. How can I get it to go back to working normally
and putting my laptop to sleep mode when I close the lid? I already had Windows 7 re-installed, but the problem is still there. Thank you

Please follow the methods mentioned below:

Method 1: Follow the steps:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X.
  
• 
  Select on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Power Options. On the left, click on "Choose what closing the lid does". Click on the drop down menu for "When I close the lid" and choose "Sleep" or "Hibernate.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to run in-built Power troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting on the left pane, click on
  View All.
• Click on Power to run the troubleshooter.

Method 3: If the above method doesn’t help, I would suggest you to
reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back with their default settings. Follow the steps.

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin).
• At the command prompt, type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes, and then press
  ENTER.
• At the command prompt, type exit to exit the Command Prompt window.
• Restart the computer and check with the issue.
