    Windows 10 compatible with DTV


    I have an Acer aspire all in one on windows 7, the DTV is accessed through media player, I was wondering if it will work with Windows 10, as I use the tv in my bedroom, thank you in antisipation.

    I have two USB WinFast DTV dongles that currently run on Windows 7 drivers.

    One is listed as suitable for Windows 7 and the other as suitable for windows 7 and Windows 8.1 The manufacturers web sites do not list drivers for Windows 10 for either dongle.

    Will Windows 10 supply drivers for both of them?

    Windows 10 media player won't play mpg video files

    Hello All,

    I found the issue with the WMP MPeg2. Please find the Microsoft video codec version:

    Open WMP. Right Click in the menu bar. Select Help ->About WMP -> Technical support information

    On the PC, upgraded from Win7 to Windows 10 the WPM codec versions are:

    Type Name Binary Version

    video Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder msmpeg2vdec.dll 10.0.14393.479

    audio Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder msmpeg2adec.dll 10.0.14393.0

    This version support the old Mpeg2 videos.

    On the PC delivered with Windows 10 the WPM codec versions are:

    video Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder msmpeg2vdec.dll 12.0.10547.1000

    audio Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder msmpeg2adec.dll 12.0.10547.1000

    This version does NOT support the old Mpeg2 videos. It is NOT backward compatible.

    Solution choosen by my client was to install 8.1 CODEC PACK posted in HowardNelson1988 reply.

    Did not have time to test if I replace the version 12 codec by version 10 codec solves the issue as well.

    VLC can also stream IPTV if you give it right address.
