Windows 10: Windows 10 Computer Disconnecting from Mesh Wifi System and Wifi is Very Slow

Hi all,


I have a Lenovo Legion laptop with Windows 10. We recently got a TP-Link Deco Mesh Wifi system Deco S4 and my laptop is running very slowly on the wifi and often disconnects I have to manually reconnect each time. I am not able to use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, etc. because of the wifi issue. My wifi connection is strong enough to use the video calling apps when I'm on other non-mesh wifi networks with traditional routers. I also have another Windows 10 laptop that connects to our wifi just fine and lets me video call, and my wifi speeds are 75 Mbps download and 14 Mbps upload. Sitting right next to the main mesh router also does not help.


I have no clue what the issue could be. I do use a dual-boot system with Ubuntu, but my Ubuntu OS is completely separate on an external SSD. I'm able to video call on my Ubuntu OS on the mesh network. I also have to use a VPN for work sometimes, but I'm almost never connected to it. Checking the link speed receive/transmit shows 585/585 Mbps for the wifi network. Any ideas how I can fix this?

my son laptiop wifi disconnect after 5 minutes

• If you have an identical laptop try comparing the wifi and security settings of the one that does not disconnect with the one that does. If you find any differences change the settings of the one that does not work to the one that does.

Wifi continuously disconnects


This just started happening only a few days ago, I'm not sure what might have caused it, but my laptop will suddenly disconnect from my wifi network. sometimes it won't disconnect, but just stop receiving/sending packets. I can tell this because suddenly my pages are stuck loading and skype is trying to reconnect, but nothing happens until I manually disconnect.

I have tried

• Troubleshooting
  
  But I usually get "Your proxy setting could not be recognized" or something, even though I don't have any proxy settings.
• Uninstalling and then reinstalling the latest driver for my wifi card
• disabling power saving for the wifi card as talked about here
• Everything mentioned on the Microsoft page here

This has been driving me crazy, ethernet works fine. I can connect my phone to wifi and tether it to my laptop, so this shouldn't be a problem with the router.
