Windows 10 Computer is failing to detect network that it previously could? Help much...

Okay, so this is a bit of a reoccurring problem. I have an old windows ten computer which is prone to a certain failure that is finally starting to become kind of unworkable. Specifically, it usually is able to detect networks fine, however, now and again (Especially after a crash) it utterly fails to do so. Such is the case right now. The computer crashed about half an hour ago, and since that point, I have been utterly unable to get it to detect any wireless networks at all, even though the same one it used previously is still active. It's not the network, as I have pulled out my laptop and that still works fine.

The computer seems to utterly fail to recognize any networks. It fails to show any names in the connection tab, and even under advanced settings. I have tried resetting it, turning it off and on again, I have gone into advanced sharing settings and enabled network discovery. I have even reset the network drivers using the options in the network centre. Simply put, I have no idea what to try next. Everything has come up blank, and the computer is still refusing to recognize any wireless network. The computer is old now, but usually serves well enough, and it's both stable and in good shape, so I don't think it's a hardware fault. Much less because this has happened before a few times and I have been able to fix it. I simply do not know what is the next course of action which might yield results.

Some help would be much appreciated.

    :)

I'll be adding a small page on doing this in windows vista soon, since XP is the same with a step or two less, i assume people will figure it out.

  4. Windows 10 Computer is failing to detect network that it previously could? Help much...

Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Congratulations, you have a fully operational network. Happy Gaming! *Toast :toast:
