  1. Windows 10 computers not appearing on network browser

In the network browser (win+E select network) only my girlfriend's laptop is visible. I have 2 other PCs and a Vortexbox appliance running Fedora 23. Of those 4 machines on the laptop running Windows 7 appears on the network via the browser. All the machines are set to the same workgroup and neither on the Windows 10 machines are visible even to themselves. I can browse to a machine via the \\machinename method and that machine may appear as a subcategory in the network browser but it will not appear as a "Computer"

Both Windows are wired ethernet. The Win7 machine is wireless. The second printer on the "primary" PC does not appear as a printer when shared but can be browsed to via the \\primary method.

  2. Network computers stopped appearing on file explorer network tab

I used the instructions above, and the first set, under 'troubleshooting', resulted in this appearing on the computer:

    Issues found

    6

One or more network protocols are missing on this computer

    Not fixed

Windows Sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing.

Not sure what it means... but after running both steps as instructed, the WD hard drive and other computers still don't show up on the network of my new laptop computer. But on my OTHER, older windows 10 computers-- 2 windows 10 systems, one wired and one
wireless, that were upgraded from windows 7-- all of the network locations DO show up. Note that the other network computers DO list my new laptop on the network. But the new laptop will not recognize the other computers or WDMycloud.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  4. Windows 10 computers not appearing on network browser

updates messed up my network discovery and now my other network computers and hp printer not discovered

Thishis is helpful but not honestly the issue with Windows 10.

The problem is for Windows 10 to see ANY DEVICE or Network Device or Printer or USB drive is REBOOT!

But only after your suggestions. Example below of a posted thread I put on Facebook:

Let me get this straight please:

I have a Windows 95 and XP computer behind me and they see this computer on the network fine, but I have to reboot Windows 10 to see them?

Which OS sucks.........Windows 10 seems to be worse then Windows 95!!!!!!

You have to ask why do I need to Reboot Windows 10 at the drop of a hat to get anything done?

Windows 95 is better then Windows 10 as I did not have to REBOOT the Windows 95 Computer to see Windows 10!

My Gawd even a DOS machine is not this crappy! It sees the Windows 10 computer without a REBOOT!

Windows 10 is a clear step backwards in being backwards compatibility and function.

How did this product of Windows 10 ever make it out of the shop and onto our desktops?
