Windows 10: Windows 10 connected but no internet

I have been having problems with connecting to the internet on Windows 10 getting error messages like this site can't be reached err_timed_out. When I run troubleshoot it can't identify the problem. I have had this probelm off and on. Theough searches and trying fixes or leaving the lap top alone for a few days resulted in a temporary internet connection again but then trying the same method didn't work. I have spent many hours over the course of a few months researching and trying suggestions I have found through searches. For instance: checking firewall, restarting the computer, increasing the time to respond, powering off, connecting an ethernet to the modem/router, using command prompt and running as administer and typing in various commands, making sure I have latest windows updates, checking my drivers are updated, going back to previous versions of my drivers etc. I have spoken to my cable provider with advanced technical support and had them at my home to varify it my laptop not from them. So I havent had internet connection for about 2 weeks again. Intermittently I tried to see if spontaneously it would connect again. When I was just about to toss this computer in the garbage and buy a new one, I backed up my data and then tried when i tried to connect to the internet I did. I had internet for a total of 48 hours. Someone forgot to plug the computer in and no warning came and the battery died. When I plugged it in and restarted i had no internet again. I ran troubleshoot problems like I usually do which again couldn't identify the problem. I tried reatarting in safe mode with networking and had no internet and this time network status shows no internet connection. I restarted the computer in normal mode and network status states I am connected but I have no internet. Please someone have a solution.

Upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 and losing internet connection

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Did you run the Windows 10 connection troubleshooter?

Troubleshoot Internet connection problems

Also, check in the "Device Manager" to see if the network adapter is ok.
You may need to un-install it and then "Scan for new devices".
