Windows 10: Windows 10 constantly freezes needing restart.

Current Specifications:

Windows 10.0 build 17134

AMD FX 8350 8-core processor

8GB RAM

AMD Raedon R9 200 Series 2GB RAM


As of lately I've been noticing problems with my windows 10. Either my computer is infected or the past few updates have been slowing down my computer.

First off I do not currently use my computer often. I am not the only user, however the other users on my computer only use it to watch netflix.

I noticed a few months ago my computer would start running very slow. I thought this was just due to Chrome taking up RAM and went about my business. This past month I started having the same problem only now my computer started to entirely freeze. Again, I thought this was due to chrome, or a bad update, so I switched to chrome canary. This didn't work either, so I tried a clean install of chrome. My issues persisted so I decided to do a system scan which found nothing. Upon reading I came across an article that mentioned Windows defender taking up processes and RAM in the background. Surely this couldn't be it. I also ran a malware scan by Malwarebytes which didn't find anything unusual. During this time I was offline and decided to remove some apps. While doing this a few apps would open my browser to let me know I have successfully uninstalled them. This crashed my PC again. After this I thought maybe my system was not up to date. I checked and updated everything. Still no luck so I tried using Microsoft Edge. I also decided to open task manager to see what it was doing. I noticed my GPU trying to process 3D as well as both my CPU/GPU spiking to almost 100% or 100% and freezing. I checked my GPU drivers but couldn't do anything. After my next crash I rebooted my computer and opened task manager and noticed MS Edge still open, but suspended. One of the processes was Chakra JIT compiler. I didn't know what this was, so I googled it and came across and article saying, "...

The goal of this is to make it more difficult for an attacker who already gained some capabilities in the browser’s Content Process to execute arbitrary code.”" This possibly explains why my cpu/gpu was spiking resulting in a crash.


At this point I'm not sure whether I have a bitminer/RAT on my PC or I just have a faulty Windows update. I also dont know what to do and am wondering if anyone has encountered something similar and if they have fixed it.


If I have malware, and knowing the nature of RATs, i would like to format my SDD, however i need another computer to do this, which i don't currently have access to.


If it is a faulty update I'm not sure which to uninstall. I noticed my computer occasionally crawling to a standstill months ago. It's not until recently it started freezing. This also leads me to seek a clean install of windows, however if I wipe my SDD I won't have a save point to fall back on.

Windows 10 Constantly Freezes

Windows 10 on PC constantly freezes. I called support with no help. It freezes every 2-3 minutes. This is unacceptable and I don't know what to do. The Windows rep suggest that I could go back to Windows 8. I've had 10 for almost two months and I would
like to keep it; I just want it to stop freezing my PC. I have tried the various suggestions given to no avail, this is a Windows 10 problem. PLEASE HELP
