  1. Windows 10 constantly using all my bandwidth when it's already fully up to date

Windows is completely updated, yet svchost.exe (NetworkService -p) in resource monitor (Delivery Optimization in Task Manager) is constantly using all my bandwidth.

When connected to my metered hotspot it uses 100mbps if it can, ignoring my preferences in Settings. In settings I've already disabled downloads from other PCs (Delivery Optimization screen), and have limited 'how much bandwidth is used for downloading updates in the background/foreground' to 5 mbps, but still it uses all 100mbps. Whenever I stop/kill the process/service it starts back up again after a few seconds, and I can't disable the service in Services (Access is denied) or even in msconfig.

I will try leaving it to do its thing on my unmetered wifi all night and see if it stops by morning, but this makes no sense as it has downloaded at least 30-40 GB already... my SSD isn't filling up so where is it all going?

I've done a virus scan with defender but nothing is found. Does anyone know what's going on here? This has been annoying me for a while since apart from using data it also interferes with my online gaming. I'm starting to think I might need to do a fresh install.

    Thanks for any insights

  2. Window 10 eating my Wifi bandwidth

Whenever I start my laptop and check 'data usage' after couple of minutes, I found 'system' is using my internet bandwidth in size of hundreds MBs.

I urgently need to get rid of this.

    I tried many tricks:

    • Set wifi on metered connection
    • Disable Windows Update service
    • Disable scheduled task regarding Windows 10 update assistance and some others
    • Set all background app to OFF.
Still windows 10 constantly eating my bandwidth.

How to stop this unacceptable behaviour?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
