Windows 10: Windows 10 corrupted after last update

I'm normally able to fix any issues after a bad Windows 10 update by looking up fixes online. This last update completely corrupted Windows so that I couldn't even get onto my computer. Ended up taking it to a professional, which cost me $120 to fix. He checked the entire computer and it came down to it was a bad Windows 10 update. Ended up having to reinstall Windows 10 back to factory specs. So I have 2 questions:


1 How do I disable automatic updates from Windows 10? The last thing I need is to have to take my computer to be repaired everytime a bad update comes through! It's really hard to guard against an auto update that will mess up your computer!


2 What is Microsoft doing about this? I'm not the only one whose computer got corrupted by this past update, any recourse to them fixing the issue?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
