Windows 10: Windows 10 Corruption

Hi

My new PC appears to work offline. So long as I don't connect it to my router, I can install Windows 10 and all is fine. I can install simple programs offline and run them.

Once I connect to the Internet, however, it only works for about 10 minutes before freezing up and corrupting Windows.

I've re-installed Windows 10 many many times, sometimes reformatting the SSD to get it as clean as possible.

The symptoms of the crash that I've seen so many times now! are that the screen briefly goes blank and then comes back on completely frozen. Rebooting just leads to a black screen after that and only a re-install of Windows seems to fix it.

I don't have definitive proof but I'm suspecting that it's the driver for the graphics card that's causing the problem. Installing Windows offline forces it to use the basic Microsoft driver and that seems OK. Trying to install the Nvidia driver breaks it but it can also break if I do nothing maybe because Windows is trying to install the driver automatically?.

I have tried changing the device installation settings to stop Windows from automatically installing drivers but that didn't seem to help.

I'm now running out of ideas. Advice please!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

 

Programs not working

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
