Windows 10: Windows 10 couldn't update to version 1803 (error code 0xc1900101)

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me...


My PC has been trying to update Windows 10 to the latest version but it keeps failing to do so. I have tried to update Windows multiple times in the past week.


What happens is:

- Windows configures the update successfully and then restarts sucessfully

- Windows then starts to install the updates

- Windows restarts the PC during the update process

- Windows then takes me to the user profile section and I then log in

- Windows then displays a 'please wait' message for around half an hour, and then displays the log in screen again

- I then shut down windows and turn it back on, where it then restores windows and displays a message when I log in saying it couldn't finish installing updates, and gives me the error code 0xc1900101.


I have run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. It then displays a message saying "Download and install pending updates. Choose apply this fix to start the update process in the background immediately".


The troubleshooter then finishes with the message that it made changes to my system, and it also says that it detects a "potential windows update database error". When I try updating my PC again, it fails to update again.


I would really appreciate some guidance on what to do next.

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.

Update to 1903 fails with error 0xc1900101


Hi

I'm trying to update Windows 10 from 1809 to 1903 but after one of the reboots, it gets stuck. I need to turn off and on the computer twice for it to undo changes and go back to the previous version where it works ok.

When going to the version history in the settings, I see the error 0xc1900101. On the net I saw this error accompanied with more codes but I only see 0xc1900101.

I didn't try to use media creation tool - is there a reason for me to expect it to work differently than than the auto update of windows itself?

I updated my drivers, disconnected my external hard drive, there is enough space in the hard drive.... but still it fails. I have Avast antivirus, I didn't uninstall it. Also, in the past I never had problems upgrading to major versions of Windows 10.

Is there a way for me to know what exactly is causing this error?
Is there a way to check the compatibility of my computer without to actually upgrade? It takes time until it stuck.
