Windows 10: Windows 10 - Cpu Cores Disappear - Bluecreen Fix is NOT a fix

Seems like Microsoft's solution for a a Bluescreen for my computer was to turn off 3 of my 4 cores of the cpu and my threads. I have Intel I7-4770k - @3.5 ghz processer Socket 1150. I was getting a Blue Screen and during a time period this problem of the blue screen disappeared and so did my my processors, so I take it that was Microsoft's fix because I certainly didn't change this. I spent literally hours on the internet trying to find out where my processors disappeared to and came up with this: Open: Run; Type in msconfig; Go to Boot Tab, then deselect the box, the box that has incorrect number of processors. restart computer. On restarting computer I got the Blue Screen back again so Windows 10 is not working properly with this processor! The fix Microsoft gave by only recognizing one processor and not 4 cores is taking literally a $2,000 dollar computer and making it into $400 or so computer that doesn't run properly. The fix is not a fix - and Microsoft needs to fix this properly!.

Go to Task Manager - Performance and you will see your cores are back with the Logical Processors. Microsoft needs to fix this issue properly and the Blue Screen issue.

How I fix problem that DVD drive in "Computer management" disappeared after upgrading from windows 7 to 10?

DVD-ROM is not detected by PC and its icon also disappeared in "File explorer".

My PC= Motherboard: ASUS P5G41C-M LX; CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500; RAM: 2GB; 32-bit system; DVD-ROM: ASUS DRW-24B1ST.

This sounds a bit like a faulty core in your CPU, if that is indeed the case you would need to replace the CPU. Nobody can provide a fix for a faulty hardware part.

 

Worked fine in Windows 7. ...

No issues with Cpu when checked...

Issue is Windows 10 and I believe Windows 10 not working with this cpu "K" version of this cpu.

Why was the cpu changed from 4 core to 1 core? I didn't change it. I didn't see the change until I started noticing the performance issue and the cpu performance issue. This computer was built to fly not to hover just off the ground.

 

There are many Windows 10 computers that have a 4770k and run just fine. It would be best if you posted logs so we could see what the bugcheck codes were along with some more information about your system in general.

No problem devices in software or hardware also none in Device Manager. No issues I can see.

 

not about to download an unknown exe. file onto my computer. Tried to find the dump files on the computer but can't locate it. Helpful if someone would be able to direct me to where these dump files are in windows 10 and how to directly copy them. tks.

 

this is a stock custom built computer with a stock cpu fan and 16 gigs of ram; gtx 760-2gb gpu; asus z87 sabretooth motherboard; LG Blu ray burner and player and LG Dvd burner and player coolermaster Full case. Its not a piece of slapped together junk.

It has never been overclocked.. I look after the maintenance on this desktop though I am not a tech I can put and take this apart on my own.
