Windows 10: Windows 10 & CR3 raw file extension

Discus and support Windows 10 & CR3 raw file extension in Microsoft Windows 10 Store to solve the problem; I am running Windows 10.0.19044.2075, updated yesterday.     Windows 10 & CR3 raw file extension


    I am running Windows 10.0.19044.2075, updated yesterday. In my administrator account I installed Microsoft Store & installed the CR3 raw file extension & I can view thumbnails in Windows Explorer, everything works fine. However, I use a standard user account for security purposes & am unable to access Microsoft Store or install the raw file extension for that account. I even changed that account to an administrator account & rebooted the PC multiple times & was unable to access Microsoft Store or install the raw file extension on that account.     Hi Beth,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to preview thumbnails of CR3 files.

    The CR2 and CR3 requires additional Raw Image Extensions in order to display the thumbnails in File Explorer as well as in Photos App.

    Although, there are extensions available for CR2 and other formats (Raw
    Image Extension    ) in Microsoft Store, at the moment this does not support CR3 format.

    However, you can contact
    Canon Support     and check if there are any updated codecs for the format.

    Meanwhile, you may also make use of the
    Feedback Hub    , where you can provide feedback to Microsoft about Windows 10 and send suggestions to help us improve your Windows experience.
