Windows 10: Windows 10 Creators Update coming April 11th 2017

I installed the creators update on my main PC from the ISO that Microsoft posted last week, is going to be the same exact version that goes to the MCT when it becomes available?

 

I'd imagine so, any further fixes will be another cumulative update.

" Good news! The Windows 10 Creators Update is on its way. Want to be one of the first to get it? "

Creators Preview Update is choosing to be updated from Windows Update as an Insider .....an ISO is different as you are doing an installation.

MS could have been a little clearer on what this means:

"Want to be one of the first to get it?"

Lots of people would go "Sure!! Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!"

Takes you to an invitation to join Insiders.

 

So if we have downloaded the "Insider" iso of the Creators Update and have formatted and used that. Then got updated to Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.11) then we are on the release that gets released on the 5th? And if any updates get released in that time frame or in the future we can just WU them (non-Insider)?

 

If you have not opted in to Insider, via the settings page, I believe that is correct. Someone else please verify.........

 

I installed 15063 on 2 desktops and a laptop not on Insider and got the cumulative update via WU that made them all 15063.11, so I think it's yes.

 

A few questions for those who have upgraded.
Is there any watermark/indication anywhere that it is a beta/insider release?
If I upgraded via the .iso will there be any future problems with installing updates including major releases like the creators update Mk 2 (my name for any possible update later this year)?
Will the install just update windows 10 to the creators release or is a clean install required?

 

Thanks. I'd though i'd ask as I wasnt expecting to get "Do you have a question" and "Make windows better" in the Settings app on any screen at the side. So I thought perhaps MS was being a bit sneaky and even though its a Insider release but isn't, that they were going to say it really is and you should of waited.

Either way any one know if they will go in the update that we will prob get upon official release, or how to remove them?

If I read you right, those 2 dittys have been in the last several Insider builds, all over settings, and I would imagine they a part of the future. Until the future changes, which it will. *Smile

 

1) If you are installing and refuse terms and conditions for a clean install, it will not install. For upgrades, it will just do it as you accepted upgrades as part of terms and conditions when you initially installed windows 10 (terms and conditions do not change normally)

2) you will get all normal updates BUT eventually build will expire if you are not in Insider Programme. Only Insider versions that coincide with release versions have no expiry date.

 

May we expect RTM isos of 1703 today?

 

No 11th. Anyway the latest version on Slow Ring for download is it.
