Windows 10: Windows 10 Cumulative April 2021 Update causing all client workstation to not able to...

Clients running Win 10, Server is running Win 2012. On my client workstations today I installed Win 10 April 2021 update 2021-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems KB5001330. After installing the update, the client workstation can no longer connect to the server. I get the Network Error message "Windows cannot access \\Server; Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with the network. To try to identify and resolve the network problems, click Diagnose" Clients still have internet access, Windows network icon on bottom right of screen shows it is still connected properly to the network.

Network path was not found

I tried "troubeshooting." Win 10 claims there is issue with DNS Server.


Under Network Icon --> The client can visibly see other workstations,printers, and the server. Clients can access other workstation clients. When clicking on the server icon, theworkstation cannot access the server directory.

I tried various regedits on the client workstations, no avail. Huge problem for me as I'm running a patient database that is stored on the server, and the client workstations constantly access the server and the patient database.

After I uninstalled the April 2021 update, everything is working ok again, and the clients can access server contents again.

Anyone run into this issue? Please help.

Microsoft blocks Windows 10 April Update for Intel SSD 600p Series

Microsoft is blocking some Intel SSDs from installing the April 2018 Update after discovering an incompatibility issue that causes performance and stability issues. In short, the problem was explained by Microsoft as: “When attempting to upgrade to Window 10 April 2018 Update select devices with certain Intel SSDs may enter a UEFI screen reboot or crash repeatedly.” Microsoft says that this issue has no workaround and that those that have attempted to update Windows 10 to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update should revert back to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update version 1709.

Unfortunately, the announcement by Microsoft fails to list what specific Intel SSD models are having issues with the OS update. We contacted Intel and discovered that the Intel SSD 600p Series of client drives that was first introduced to the market in 2016 is the most popular drive that is having issues.

Windows Update Manager not updating

Available updates:
· 2021-03 Cumulative Update for Win 10 ver. 20H2 (K8500080) Status: Down loading – 0 %
· 2021-01 Update for Windows 10 ver. 20H2 (KB4023057) Statue: Pending install

If you were in this situation, what would you do to get the Update Manager to make these updates?

• There is 43.8 GB available disk space.
• Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool completed successfully
• Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

What do you think is the cause of the problem?
What steps should be taken to solve the problem?

 

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.
